Vegan Puppy Chow

December 23, 2019
A family favorite treat for the holiday season has always been our homemade puppy chow (also known as muddy buddy or reindeer chow). It is an extremely simple recipe and is actually a lot of fun to make with the family! This recipe makes a large batch as well so it is perfect to take to work or family dinners to share with loved ones. It is important to note that when you purchase powdered sugar at the supermarket you want to purchase a brand that is marked "raw" or "organic". This is the only way to ensure that you are purchasing vegan powdered sugar. Hopefully, you enjoy this simple and sweet vegan treat as much as me and my family!

Directions

1. Put the peanut butter and chocolate chips into a large microwave-safe bowl for one minute.
2. Stir and place back into the microwave for one more minute.
3. Slowly add both types of Chex Mix into the bowl and gently fold into the chocolate.
4. It is important to only add a little bit of cereal at a time.
5. Add cereal until all pieces are covered in chocolate mixture and there isn’t any excess mixture at the bottom of the bowl.
6. Then place the powdered sugar into a large paper bag.
7. Add the chocolate cereal mixture into the bag a little at a time and roll around until all pieces are covered.
8. Then add more of the cereal mixture and repeat until all of the cereal is in the bag and covered in powdered sugar.
9. Lastly, strain out the excess powdered sugar and place the final product in your favorite storage bin. Share with others and enjoy!
