Vegan Mozzarella Sticks

March 18, 2020
Mozzarella sticks were one of my all time favorite childhood foods. Whenever I went out to eat with my family when I was younger, I would always order mozzarella sticks and eat them as my meal. They were such a treat because they weren’t something that was ever made at home and I hadn’t even considered as an option. On a recent trip to the market, I bought a block of vegan cheese that was on sale and I immediately knew what I was going to use it for. I used standard mozzarella cheese flavor but I think trying pepper jack or other flavors would work great.

These mozzarella sticks taste just like the real deal and they don’t require too many ingredients. I used all-purpose flour but you could try using an alternative to make it gluten-free. There is a step in the directions that requires freezing the mozzarella sticks before baking. DO NOT skip this step! If you do, you will be left with a sheet of melted, gooey, cheesy mess.
