How To Surround Yourself With Reminders Of The Right Attitude To Life

October 7, 2021

We are learning about mindfulness from books, social media, conversations, but often even the most amazing insights just slip our minds with time. We need to constantly remind ourselves of the spiritual concepts and advice that help us maintain the state of alignment, peace, love, and gratitude. Surrounding myself with reminders of the right attitude to life was one of the first and main steps of my life transformation. Let me share what these are and how you can incorporate them into your daily life too, to make sure your energy and mindset are constantly attracting beautiful things into your life.

Phone Reminders

Create a whole collection of daily and hourly reminders (with a phone app) that help you remember what this is all about, what really matters and what doesn’t deserve your attention. These reminders help me remember my power and start utilizing it rather than falling victim to circumstances. Remind yourself to fully receive the present moment, not wander into the past or future in your mind, anticipating, predicting, and preparing.

If you cannot come up with such reminders yourself, save your favorite quotes from a book or social media pages. Those reminders that make you feel: “oh I wish I thought like this every day.” While watching a video or any other material on spirituality write down the sentences and advice that would serve as a great daily reminder.

Mirror notes

My favorite quotes to write with a red lipstick on my bathroom mirror are “be a dot” (you can read about it in this article) and “I have no doubt that my dreams are finding their way to me.” See and read this every time you brush your teeth, wash your hands, or get ready to go outside. I so love this mindfulness hack, and people have been doing this for decades, because this really works. Just choose something concise and very powerful, that will immediately make you feel at ease.

Clear up your timeline

Unfollow or mute accounts and posts that do not serve your development and growth. I have unfollowed so many celebrities and people I chose to follow for questionable reasons. Make sure your timeline consists of posts that make you feel empowered, beautiful, and loved, people and activities that inspire you to be the best version of yourself and do great things with your life.

If the post you see in your timeline is not serving you in this way unfollow, or if it is an acquaintance of yours just mute their posts and stories. Do not spend your time peeking into the lives of others, unless you gain inspiration or any other warm and good feelings from it.

After a while your timeline will be filled only with the content that powers up your dream life, and is in alignment with it. My timeline is now mostly filled with inspirational quotes, positive predictions, beautiful couples and families, impressive athletes, talented dancers, people loving and enjoying doing what they are best at, and educative posts that help me learn new skills in areas I love exploring.

What do you listen to when walking?

Download podcasts, songs and other recordings on the topic of spirituality. Spend your commuting time learning how to live your best life. For instance, I go to the grocery store every day (it’s mostly a physical activity for me). If I listen to useful things on the way, it is not only time saving but makes me come back home in an uplifted state. I remember what I should give my attention to and start doing that for the rest of the day. Listen to recordings that constantly remind you of the power of your mind and how it should not be wasted on worry and fear.

Listen and repeat after affirmations daily

Find affirmations on YouTube or download recordings of your favorite spiritual leaders (some of them offer it on their websites). But do not just listen to them daily but repeat after their words. Words are so powerful and shape your reality. So turn this into a daily habit: saying out loud the powerful positive claims about yourself and your life. Choose the topic you need most help with like self love, acceptance, presence, forgiveness, or motivation affirmations.

Daily time slot for spirituality

There are so many free online materials for us to make use of. So many creators on YouTube and other platforms are sharing what they have learned about mindfulness with the world. However, these materials are all of different quality and it is mostly about how much they speak to you. I personally have little trust in anything mainstream. Mindfulness apps and meditations all try to appeal to mass audience and thus explore spirituality just on the surface. I prefer finding people on social media that I feel connection to and trust towards. And it’s never multimillion follower accounts.

So find the people that you resonate with and listen to or watch their content daily. Reserve a certain time during the day when you do it. Just engaging into any spiritual practice like this will help you remember so much of the truth you always know just need to keep bringing your attention to. Bring your attention throughout the day to the beauty and simplicity of life, appreciation of what you have and enter your most amazing reality through this high vibration you keep maintaining.
