Vegan Sandwich Recipes: Tahini Panini

September 7, 2016
Tahini is typically viewed as a savory condiment (thanks, hummus), but I prefer it sweet. It's an exciting stand-in for peanut butter--especially for those with nut allergies. Try this tasty tahini panini as your first foray into the world of sugary sesame spread. The sugars here are all natural, coming from apples and dates. A pinch of black salt gives the sandwich a bit of oomph. It's like a PB&J for the grown-up and health conscious.
For an even riskier (but equally delicious) variation, swap the dates for pickles, and keep the apple if you're feeling brave. Sounds weird, tastes great. But for those who want to stick within a certain comfort zone, stick with the recipe below. I guarantee it will leave you coming back for more.
