9 Essential Oil Blends for Summer

Summertime means heat. And while I may live in Seattle renowned for its cold, rainy weather, summers here are surprisingly warm, sunny (sometimes), and humid. And that humid heat definitely gets to me, especially since I grew up in dry Southern California. The lingering sweat stuck to my skin calls for something refreshing to help cool my body down. And not only is the humidity a damper on my summer, but the increased sun exposure from lying out near the lake all day catching a few of those precious, rare sun rays is never fun when you’re left burned the next day.

So to help make this summer stress-free, I’ve decided to incorporate essential oils into my daily summer routine. The variety of uses from essential oils can help to stay cool, soothe skin, repel bugs, and more! Below are the best essential oils to use during the summer along with three essential oil blends to try. Please note that using essential oils by themselves (without a carrier oil) can cause skin irritation because they are highly concentrated. Carrier oils can be sweet almond oil, olive oil, coconut oil, sesame oil, etc. Pick your favorite–just make sure it’s organic!
