Savor Cafe-Style Holiday Lattes At Home With Our Top 5 Vegan Holiday Creamers

December 17, 2020

The search for the perfect coffee creamer has been a long and hard one. Some too sweet, some too oily, I’ve had my fair share of creamers that have made me want to pour out my cup of coffee. It’s especially frustrating when you take a chance and spend the money, get excited about your favorite part of the morning and then get let down by brands who just don’t get it right.

It’s not totally their fault, though. Creating something new often comes with bumps in the road, and I commend companies for trying to create vegan products at all. But, with that said, for us coffee-drinkers, it really can be a let down.

Now that it’s getting colder, a hot satisfying cup of coffee is more important than ever. And with trying to not go outside and all, making the perfect cup of coffee at home is a necessity and ranks up there on my list of things I look forward to each day.

Because it’s the holiday season, and because during the holiday season it’s fun to switch things up a bit—and because it’s always fun to indulge in holiday flavors—here is our review of the Top 5 Holiday Vegan Creamers to make your winter mornings a little brighter.

1. Nutpods Peppermint Mocha

Nutpods uses a blend of coconut cream and almond ms to make their creamy, dreamy Peppermint Mocha. If you’re worried about the peppermint being too strong, don’t be. Both the peppermint and mocha flavors come in subtly, with just the right hint as to not overpower your coffee, but still make it a nice holiday treat.

What makes this creamer extra sweet? Well, actually it doesn’t contain any sugar. Nope, none. That way you can add your sweetener of choice and don’t have to worry about additional sugar in the morning for the sake of taste.

We also love this creamer because it froths up really nice, to give you that coffee-house feel.

2. Elmhurst  Oat Chai Spice

This one is great for those spice lovers out there. You either love chai or you hate it, but be warned if you haven’t tried it, it’s a very unique flavor. Spicier than eggnog, with a strong punch of cardamom.

We love this creamer because it’s made from oat milk and hemp cream, so it’s naturally more nutritious and has a luxurious texture that’s perfect in coffee or tea, and froths up great.

This creamer has 1gram of sugar, so it’s still relatively low for those who like their coffee unsweetened or like to add their own stevia.

3. Coffee Mate Natural Bliss Caramel Toffee

Ok, so some of us like our coffee sweet, and this one is great for a little afternoon pick-me-up. It has a buttery caramel flavor that will have you saying “buh-bye” to Starbucks. Its base is almonds, but this one is part of their Natural Bliss line, so it has much simpler ingredients that you can feel good about consuming.

Higher sugar amount, yes—grams per tbsp, but like we said, maybe keep this one as an occasional treat. Or go wild, it’s the holidays. Whatever your vibe. Your diet is up to you, treat yourself, but make sure you listen to your body.

4. Silk Almond Creamer Dark Chocolate Peppermint

People who try this creamer are hooked. Too bad its only available seasonally. But while we’re in the season, try to track this one down and give it a shot. This creamy chocolatey peppermint almond creamer will give you all of the holiday vibes.

This one has 4 grams of sugar per tbsp, so like #3 enjoy at your own discretion.

5. Califia Farms Holiday Nog Almond Milk Creamer

Holiday Nog creamer. Now, I was a little skeptical about this one because coffee+nog=? However, the spicy ginger undertones and subtle nutmeg just really ramps your coffee up a notch!

This creamer is low in sugar—2 grams per tbsp—and tastes really authentic (when sipped on its own, but we don’t recommend this too much!) and is a great complement to your coffee during the holiday season.
