Tired Of The Same Ol’ Sweet Potato Recipes? These Healthy Fries Put A Spin On Things

March 22, 2018

I am always on the hunt for nutritious and guilt-free indulgences, and sweet potato fries are a healthy alternative for when you are craving a french-fried snack. Sweet potato fries are one of my favorite sweet potato recipes. With minimal prep and simple, wholesome ingredients, they pack a delicious, yet nutritious, punch. Sweet potatoes are chockfull of fiber, high in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, iron, beta-carotene, potassium, and calcium, and are a complex carbohydrate that contains protein. There are three recipes that I love that put a creative twist on the plain, traditional sweet potato fry, and they are tangy taco, sweet (potato) dessert and savory Italian fries. Each recipe satisfies a different craving and can be made all together on one pan.

Aside from the simplicity of each of these sweet potato recipes, what I enjoy most about being able to make these sweet potato fries at home is, aside from the obvious reason of always having a few available, it allows me to control what is put into them. Made with only coconut oil and a variation of natural seasonings, they’re a treat you can indulge in sans guilt. I hope you enjoy these sweet potato recipes and add them to your repertoire.

In a small mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients together so that all of the fries are coated with the coconut oil and the liquid sweetener and cinnamon. Bake at 425ºF for 30 minutes, turn over and bake for another 15 minutes. Take them out and allow them to cool. If you have a sweet tooth like myself, you might like the idea of adding an additional drizzle of sweetener over the fries.
