I used to make a peanut butter and banana shake every morning. If you'd told me to add a heaping spoonful of tahini into my blender, I probably would have wrinkled my nose in disgust. Thank goodness I decided to branch out because tahini and dates go together like peanut butter and jelly. The natural candied sweetness of the dates pairs perfectly with the tangy tahini. I don't crave shakes in the winter like I do in the summer, but I refer to this as a "winter shake" because it has rich creaminess from the tahini and comforting flavors that are totally appropriate to drink in the chilly air--even if it's next to your space heater! If you're looking for something a little different to slurp up in the mornings, this shake is for you! This simple tahini date shake is the perfect breakfast, snack, or dessert! It's refined sugar-free and has all the healthy fats, protein, and carbs you need to take on your busy day.
