Add Sparkle To Your New Year's Look With These 5 Glam Vegan Products

December 29, 2020

I love New Years Eve because it gives me an excuse to dress up far beyond how I normally would. Even if it’s just to get together with friends or have a solo date night, there is something magical about December 31st that makes me want to have fun and go a little crazy—on my hair, makeup, and outfit that is.

I know what you’re thinking, and if you are in an area that is in lockdown due to COVID-19, you may not be able to have a gathering or party this year. But, I think that’s all the more reason to dress up, to tap into your playful side and celebrate regardless.

So whether you’re saying goodbye to a bad year, welcoming in a new year with new possibilities or just want an excuse to dress up—do it big, put on some music, take some photos, and celebrate life.

Lucky for us, there is an abundance of vegan beauty brands, of whose products don’t skimp on glitz and glam. These 5 products embody the spirit of NYE, and hopefully will bring you a little happiness and normalcy during these crazy times.

1. Glamnetics Vegan Eyelashes

I don’t wear eyelashes on the regular, but on special occasions they definitely add extra glam to any look. These ones are made from 100% synthetic fiber (faux mink) and are magnetic, so you don’t have to fuss with glue. These lashes are so flirty and fun and the magnets make them so easy to use. Don’t forget the liner, though—that’s what makes them stick.

They are vegan and cruelty-free and come in a bunch of different styles and lengths. They may be a little more expensive than regular lashes, but if taken care of properly can last you up to 40 wears.

Pair with a bold lip color for a classic, glam look.

2. Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Color

Semi-permanent hair color that is DIY friendly, vegan, and cruelty-free. Comes in a variety of super bright colors that are fun for NYE or whenever really, being as so many of us are working from home these days. I love this fuchsia color, which would look great as an overall color, on just the ends or as a tint. These colors work best on pre-bleached to medium blonde hair, but it still adds a tint of color to darker hair colors.

Let your hair do the talking, or pair with a fuchsia lipstick for a futuristic, modern look.

3. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Pencil

Packed with glamour, these easy-to-glide-on glittery eyeliners will give your eyes a pop of color. I like these because they are easy to apply and easy to smudge with your finger for a less polished look. Vegan and cruelty-free always.

This gold pencil works great with a nude lipstick and jet black mascara.

4. NYX Face & Body Glitter

Sometimes, it’s just fun to play. This glitter makes me want to tap into my inner child that used to play dress up. As a teenager I loved to play around with different makeup and go into the extremely dramatic. Then I would have a photo shoot, wipe it all off and start again. Sounds like what my NYE will probably consist of this year.

This glitter is vegan and cruelty-free and comes in a few different metallics great for brining out those fairytale vibes. Anyone seen Ever After with Drew Barrymore? I’m pretty sure that is what invoked my love for glitter, I’ve been trying to replicate that ever since.

This makes a great accent to cheekbones, above the eyebrow or even on your chest and shoulders.

5. Cirque Colors Desert Bloom Collection

Shimmery and holographic nail polish to cheers your future! Perhaps you’re not a makeup lover, but still want to add a little sparkle to your NYE. I love the Dusky Skies color, which would actually pair really well with a Fuchsia hair color.

These are my favorite 5, but there are so many other gorgeous vegan brands, what are your favorites? And how will you be celebrating the end of 2020?
