Must-Shop Brand Alert: Melissa Shoes

My favorite color is pink, but my second favorite color is sparkles. Truth. So it’s not surprising I have a knack for discovering all things shiny to add to my wardrobe. One such thing are my new Melissa Shoes aptly titled Moon Dust Boots in blue. Perfectly functional (they’re waterproof and rubber!) and cute (sparkles, need I say more?), these are indeed my new everyday boot. Here’s why you should check out this stylish and vegan brand of shoes, in no particular order.

1. ALL of their shoes are rubber and eco-friendly. They have made their sustainable efforts known and use rubber responsibly. In turn, all of their shoes are waterproof like my boots (above). So all weather? Check.

2. They are actually cute and covetable. When was the last time a rubber shoe made your heart beat so fast? Probably never, or maybe only when you were 5 and in a Payless eyeing those painful plastic mary-janes. Melissa Shoes are comfortable and designed to perfection. Somehow, their collaborations with designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Jason Wu have flown under the radar. Well, no more! I accept responsibility for spreading the word about this collection, one peaceful dumpling at a time.

3. Melissa Shoes are affordable! Due to the nature of the material and mass production (I assume?) the prices are pretty decent for a shoe that can’t stain and will stick around for awhile. Most of the shoes are in the $50-$200 price range but if you catch them on sale you can score a good deal. I got my boots during their Black Friday sale..shh don’t tell!

4. They don’t scream designer. Melissa’s only logo is a tiny “M” on the sides of the shoe, which allow for maximum styling potential. I personally find over-logoed products limiting because the eye is naturally drawn towards the logo instead of your well curated ensemble. Why let a brand take the credit for you having good taste?

Okay, now wipe the drool off of your keyboard and get clicking. You can also buy Melissa Shoes here. So maybe this wasn’t the best way to start your week off according to your wallet, but I’m pretty sure your feet would disagree. Happy Monday!
