5 Energy-Boosting Vegan Supplements That Make You Feel Like Your Best Self, All Day

January 7, 2019

Energy-Boosting Vegan SupplementsFor the larger part of my adult life, I’ve been on a relentless quest to beat the fatigue and exhaustion that overcame me on the regular. I haven’t had any notable health issues and sure as anything, I refused to accept that struggling through the daily productivity slump at work was just a regular part of life.

Going vegan has certainly made a difference. Adopting a plant-based diet felt like a fog was lifted from my mind, making me feel more energetic, optimistic, and awake. Most importantly, I can have a hearty meal without being overcome by an inexorable desire to take a nap before I’m even finished eating.

However, I can’t say that the quest has ended. Although I’ve been learning to restore my energy mindfully, introduced more physical activity, and even started taking exercise breaks during working hours, my major issue remains that afternoon “energy vacuum” we all seem to experience.

Now, I’m a strong believer in supplementation when done right, so it was only a matter of time before I started researching plant-based supplements for boosting energy and focus. I already take a daily multivitamin since it’s wintertime and there are less options for fresh organic produce in the markets. But I had taken it upon myself to dig beyond that and look for some interesting vegan products formulated to fight fatigue and enhance energy levels. Here are the ones I’ve found that have piqued my interest and had great customer reviews. I’ve personally tried a few of them and the others I hope to try at some point.

Be&BeHappy Vegan Energy Booster

Caffeine-free, sugar-free, and with no additives, this supplement is designed to regulate the metabolism and provide an energy kick with natural, plant-based materials. What I like most about it is that the formulation acknowledges that maintaining a healthy digestive system and reducing bloating is vital to regaining balance, gradually feeling more energetic, and boosting both mental and physical performance.

With a bit of Ayurvedic wisdom in the formula, it contains promising ingredients such as cumin seeds, ginger powder, coriander powder, cardamom, and purple mangosteen extract.

Perfect Rhodiola Rosea

Rhodiola Rosea is an adaptogenic herb that’s been widely studied for its power to combat physical and mental fatigue and alleviate the symptoms of depression, with minimal side effects. The long list of the benefits of supplementing with Rhodiola Rosea includes: increasing overall energy, better sleep, improving endurance and stamina, enhancing mental clarity, and even improving sexual performance, among others.

All in all, this is now my adaptogenic supplement of choice, and I’m certain it has contributed to my better sleep and significantly stronger immune system. From the sea of available Rhodiola supplements out there, customer reviews have led me to this one, which has a clean and well-proportioned formula – plus the company is currently participating in a cause to protect the Amazon rainforest.

MitoTrax Bio-Enhanced Mitochondria Support

This is a very unique supplement, as it represents a blend of ingredients which have been scientifically studied to promote healthy functioning of mitochondria, the powerhouses of every cell. Because it is formulated with a focus on cellular health, MitoTrax is the type of supplement that deals with the root of the problem of physical and mental fatigue, rather than just offering fleeting relief.

The great thing about it is that it carefully combines some of the most valuable energy-boosting ingredients into one powerful formula. These ingredients include coenzyme Q10 (one of the best anti-aging supplements known to “rev up the mitochondria”), vitamins B1 and B2, magnesium citrate, turmeric, and Schizandra berry extract, an adaptogen used in traditional Chinese medicine. For me personally, this is the one to stick to indefinitely, as I can feel an obvious improvement in my energy levels and overall health after taking it for a couple of months.

Energy-Boosting Vegan Supplements

Mary Ruth Organics Vegan Vitamin D3+B12 Gummies

There’s not too much to say about this one, considering that it contains two of the three vital supplements vegans most commonly need. What I love about it is that it combines the two essential vitamins into one yummy candy – the candy part has caught my eye especially. If you’re not already taking a multivitamin and the child in you craves for masterfully concealed pills, these strawberry-flavored gummies are for you.

Raw Beauty To-Go Green Superfood Powder

When you’re looking to beat that pesky midday productivity slump at work, this green superfood powder is the ideal snack to provide an immediate energy boost – and prevent you from loading up on caffeine and sugar. It’s packed with truly impressive ingredients to give you a kick without a crash afterward and help nourish your body from the inside out. These ingredients include spirulina, kale, wheat grass, powerful adaptogens including moringa, ashwagandha, and matcha green tea, and a blend of probiotics, prebiotics, and digestive enzymes for digestive support. Oh, and it seriously tastes like mint chocolate chip. Yum.

If you’re also on a personal quest to maximize and balance your energy levels throughout each day, I believe there will be something useful in this post for you as well. In any case, make sure you supplement wisely and talk to your doctor first. A healthy, well-balanced diet and lifestyle come first, and supplementation is there to provide an additional boost to help you fight fatigue.
