Editor's Picks: Dewy Lip Products for a Natural Makeup Look

October 29, 2014

Where will your beauty adventures take you this fall? It always tickles me to think about how to match my beauty look to my setting. Although it’s currently 80 degrees where I live (not very fall-like), I’ve been noticing some changes in the weather. The humidity has eased up (still waiting for the mosquitos to take the hint), the days are shorter, and from time to time, I hear the rustle of dead leaves (somewhere, I think). I’m embracing whatever fall I can get, that is. Thus, in the spirit of fall, I’m laying on my makeup a little thicker, playing up both my eyes and lips to compliment the mystery and dark beauty of the season.

I love sultry fall beauty—especially when it involves a smoky eye paired with a dewy lip–the sort of soft, your-lips-but-better natural makeup look. As the season turns cooler and breezier (for some of us), it’s a beauty imperative that we nurture our lips for maximum dewy impact. The following vegan, cruelty-free, natural makeup products will do just that while also giving you a boost of color, shine, and prettiness.

Marie Natie Lip Gloss

Editor's Picks: Dewy Lip Products for Fall

Marie Natie’s beautifully packaged lip glosses.

Marie Natie lip gloss comes in luxe packaging and has such a creamy-dreamy texture. For a gloss, this tiny tube comes with an impressive amount of pigment. But the best part may be its smell—with the aid of vanilla essential oil, the gloss smells just like cupcake frosting! Very kissable.

Gressa Lip Boost

Editor's Picks: Dewy Lip Products for Fall

Gressa Lip Boost in Bare, a charming, barely-there balm-gloss combo.

Perfect for the no-makeup-makeup look, Gressa’s Lip Boost gives you a barely-there tint with a hint of shine. Packed with nourishing ingredients like castor oil, coconut oil, seabuckthorn seed oil, and cocoa butter, this little pot will keep your lips supple and ready for any denser pigment you’d like to apply later in the day.

Pacifica Devocean Lipstick

Editor's Picks: Dewy Lip Products for Fall

Editor's Picks: Dewy Lip Products for Fall

Pacifica Devocean in “XOX”

Pacifica’s Devocean Lipstick may change the way you feel about lipstick. Not only does it break free from the traditional “bullet-style” lipstick tube (although I love that classic style, as well!), it also avoids drying out your lips while still managing to provide full-coverage color—a near impossible task for a conventional lipstick. Bonus: it contains natural antioxidants for beautifully healthy lips.

Ellovi Tinted Lip Butter

Editor's Picks: Dewy Lip Products for Fall

Very lightly pigmented tinted lip butter by Ellovi (contains only 6 ingredients!)

Ellovi Tinted Lip Butter is my go-to when I’m dashing out the door, and I only have time for mascara and one other product. The tint is very subtle, giving you that natural, flushed look. No one will guess that wearing makeup! It’s also the perfect finish for a lip stain–or any pigment that may dry out your pucker.

Alima Pure Lip Tint

Editor's Picks: Dewy Lip Products for Fall

Richly-pigmented Alima Pure Lip Tint.

These tints come with rich pigments formulated with organic ingredients. Camellia, Pumpkin Seed, and Pomegranate Oils provide a lovely blend of antioxidants. Meanwhile, olive oil helps heal chapped lips.  (Note: this tint contains beeswax, so it’s not suitable for non-beegan vegans :)).

What’s your favorite dewy lip product? Any go-to color you’ve been swearing by this fall?
