I’m a recent convert to cream blush. I used to think it would look unthinkably oily on my complexion and people would be blinded from the shine, but it actually looks radiant and everyone can still see. Phew. I like to think plumping effect of cream blush is fitting for the whole yummy mummy vibe I’m trying to pull off (totally kidding!), but seriously, it’s hard to go back to pressed powder after experiencing how quickly the right cream blush can make it look like you’re well-rested and possess the joy of 1,000 spring daffodils. Plus, if it’s good enough for Meghan Markle her wedding day, it’s good enough for us!
Note: While there are several phenomenal cream blushes formulated with natural ingredients, I’ve included only ones sans bee products to make things a little easier for those avoiding bee products.

Cream Blush Application Tips
Start with a light layer. Most cream blush is buildable, so you can always go back and add more as needed.
Pair with a cream or liquid foundation (if you’re wearing foundation). The similar formulas will allow for easier blending. Ditto highlighter.
Use your fingers to apply. Warming the product with your fingers and then delicately patting into skin allows the blush to melt into your skin, spread evenly, and look as natural as possible.
Don’t be afraid to wear cream blush if you have oily skin or if it’s hot outside. You may be surprised by the way cream blush helps balance your skin’s natural oil production. Also, cheeks tend to be less oily than skin in your T-zone. I’ve also noticed that if my skin becomes oily over the course of the day while I’m wearing powder blush, the pigment may darken.
Vary your application for desired effect. For a sweet, youthful flush, focus cream blush on the apples of your cheeks. For a more sophisticated, sun-kissed definition, apply cream blush along your cheekbones.
Consider skin tone. When purchasing blush, opt for one that flatters your skin tone: warm tones for warm skin; cool tones for cool skin. That said, don’t be afraid to experiment! I have fairly neutral skin (yellow undertones), and I’ve worn a cool-toned blush with a warm lip and…no one was blinded 😉
