As the weather is getting cooler we feel like cuddling up at home on the couch in sweaters and cute socks with a yummy drink in hand. Here are a couple of autumn cocktail recipes that will get you ready to slip into an fall state of mind. I’m a firm believer in creativity in the kitchen and I came up with these recipes by mixing and experimenting. Don’t be afraid to change these up as you’re playing mixologist at home. You might be surprised at the delicious results!
Texas Apple Pie
- 2 oz. apple pie bourbon (I used Texas Shine Apple Pie)
- 1 oz. vodka (I used Starlite Vodka)
- 4 oz. apple cider
- dash of apple bitters (I used Bar Keep organic apple bitters)
Shake up all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and pour into rocks glass.
Candy Apple
- 2 oz. apple pie bourbon
- 2 oz. ginger ale
- dash of apple bitters
Shake up all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and pour into rocks glass.
Drunken Pumpkin
This is a frothy, creamy cocktail which is best served in a martini glass to preserve its texture. Makes 1-2 servings (depending on how saucy you’re feeling).
- 2 oz. pumpkin pie vodka
- 3 oz. unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 oz. maple syrup
- 1 heaping spoonful of canned pumpkin
- several dashes of pumpkin pie spice
Pulse everything together in a blender just until smooth and serve immediately.
