How Meghan Markle Gets Her Ravishing Skin, From Products To Breakfast (You're Welcome)

February 8, 2019

Whether you’re a fan of Meghan Markle or totally indifferent to the monarchy (this is 2019, after all), no one can deny that the Duchess of Sussex is a beautiful and riveting presence. I, for one, can’t help but wonder how she goes around the world looking so fresh-faced and well-cared-for at every moment. Did anyone else gasp when she stepped out of the plane in Australia after a gazillion-hour flight looking like she just hiked up a hill of roses? What is going on?!?!

Some sorcery is afoot.

It’s true that royals tend to have a lot of help (sarcasm), but it does seem that she has always had a habit of taking really good care of herself (see: The Tig). I guess what I’m saying is, we can take the façade people put on with a grain of salt—but we can also enjoy taking a tip or two if it mashes well with our own aspirations and lifestyles. Personally, I’ve benefitted incredibly from focusing on my well-being in the first month of 2019; and if taking a leaf from Meghan’s very own book will help me look so elegant and sublime, so be it.

Facials & Skincare

There’s no getting around this. Meghan Markle is a big, big believer in facials. In London, she visits Sarah Chapman, who also counts Victoria Beckham among her clients. In New York, Meghan is treated by Nichola Joss (also facialist to ScarJo, Gisele, Kate Moss, and GwynPal). Meghan has said that the facial massages sculpts her cheeks and jawline while improving her skin tone. Yes, Nichola Joss is *that* woman who does massages inside the mouth to tone the cheeks.

If you don’t have hundreds of dollars to spend casually on a session, take Joss’s DIY tips instead. “I’d say it’s really important to maintain a weekly exfoliation, in addition to daily cleansing and moisturizing,” Joss says. Can do! “My best anti-aging tip is to have a good daily practice for your skin by taking supplements, including probiotics, eating a clean healthy organic diet, using quality skincare and having a good facial massage technique.” Check out this video of DIY facial massage you can do at home to lift and sculpt.

After doing the DIY massage, slather on cult-favorite Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask (cruelty-free, eco-friendly, solar-powered) for 10-15 minutes and let Black Rose, Padina pavonica, and Alkekengi calyx extracts work their magic to smooth, plump, and hydrate. Wipe away the excess if necessary.

Diet

Meghan forgoes a cup of coffee for a green juice made of apples, cabbage, spinach, lemon, and ginger. That is so her! For breakfast, she opts for an açai bowl of raspberries, almond milk, and honey. (Take out honey and add maple syrup or coconut syrup if you so desire.)

So, who’s up for an açai bowl followed by a gallon of cabbage-spinach juice? ;-D
