The Exact Details Of Meghan Markle Beauty Routine, Revealed--And It's So Attainable

October 4, 2017

Meghan Markle is the world’s most sought-after belle du jour, but long before she met Prince Harry, she was already a successful actress (playing a hard-charging NYC lawer in Suits), a UN Women’s Advocate, and the creator of a lifestyle blog (which has since closed). She has also said, “I’ve never wanted to be a lady who lunches – I’ve always wanted to be a woman who works.” Hear, hear!

As a young girl, she even wrote a letter to Hillary Clinton about a dish soap that said, “Women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans” on its label, successfully getting it changed to “People all over America.” So it would be far remiss to say she’s only famous for dating a royal! (Seriously, rude!)

I really admire the fact that she’s a humanitarian and a feminist–and *not* just the kind of boardroom feminist who is only about leaning in and being a power player. She seems genuinely compassionate and kind. Also, as a thirty-year-old single New Yorker I find her meeting a (literal) Prince Charming at age 35, after a heartbreak of a divorce, pretty inspiring and amazing. (Dreams *do* come true!!)

Now, let’s get to the real deal. After all, Prince Harry didn’t *not* notice Meghan’s incredible looks, if you know what I mean?

According to Meghan Markle’s makeup artist Min Min Na (who also has worked with Rose Leslie of Game of Thrones), it’s all about “sun-kissed complexion, soft smoky eyes in bronzy, earthy tones and soft nude pink/coral lips.” Uh-huh, uh-huh.

Markle has spoken out against magazines erasing her freckles and lightening her skintone (ugh), so Min Min Na gives her a light coverage that shows off her natural coloring and texture. When Meghan does her own makeup, she only applies foundation where she needs it using a beauty blender, which has the added benefit of “contouring” your face instead of flattening out your features.

Speaking of contouring, Meghan is also a devotee of DIY facial massage! “I do facial exercises from one of my favorite aestheticians, Nicola Joss, who basically has you sculpt your face from the inside out. I swear it works, as silly as you may feel. On the days I do it, my cheekbones and jawline are waaaay more sculpted. There’s a reason she is in high demand around awards season when every actress wants to look A-plus,” she spilled in an interview with Birchbox. (See our own facial massage video–and yes, it really does work wonders, speaking from experience).

After a touch of light-medium coverage, dewy finish foundation in your skin tone, apply Meghan’s favorite Jane Iredale Bronzer in Peaches and Cream–a cruelty-free, vegan and natural brand we already know and love. Everything You Need To Know About Meghan Markle's Beauty Routine

Meghan Markle is already gifted with huuuuge doe eyes, but you just may have noticed that her eyelashes in particular are next level. The secret? She uses Revitalash lash serum: “I swear they are as long as they could ever be,” she told Allure. Revitalash uses botanical ingredients (peptides, green tea extract, wheat protein) to naturally lift and curl lashes, and is also cruelty-free and vegan, I checked! (yipeee!!)

After applying at least 2-3 coats of mascara (follow these tips for getting that “lash extension” look with just mascara), give a dab of highlighter on the inner corner of the eye–that is completely essential to a Meghan Markle beauty look, don’t skip it!

Finally, for a quick yet incredibly glamorous hair, Meghan Markle does the oldest trick in the book: she bends forward, sprays Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, and flips her head back, for that added oomph and volume like you just spent hours blow-drying. Genius!
