Cocktail Recipes: Greek Lemonade Cocktail

July 13, 2016
Greece in the summertime is sweltering. The only way to brave the heat is with a cool drink in hand. While on a recent trip to my motherland, I discovered the Cretan spirit called Raki, or Tsikoudia. The drink has a strong smell of licorice but is less bitter than other anise-derived drinks. Regardless of how strong you like your cocktails, this one will suit. It is smooth and easy to drink, and even has some health benefits. How many liqueurs can you say that about? Raki aids digestion and is also said to cure a sore throat. Combined with fresh lemonade, you have a fun and health-conscious tonic. Enjoy this Cretan novelty as you bask in the warm summer sun.
